Elder Scrolls Online: How to Get that Last Set Item You're Missing

"I can't do another banished cells.  My brain cells will be banished.  I just keep getting the same drop over and over again.  I can't seem to get the ring I need."

It can be pretty frustrating for players trying to get the last gear set item they need for a five piece bonus from a dungeon they've run over and over again.  However, with recent changes to the game, it is easier than ever to get the last set item and even change the trait on the item.  The following tips apply to overland sets as well.

Dungeon sets drop from normal or veteran dungeons and overland sets drop from the world.

Stickerbooking.  Once you bind a set piece to your account you collect it in a journal.  This has been nick named stickerbooking because when you collect a piece it looks like you pasted a sticker over the empty spot.  In a dungeon the bosses drop armor set items, chests drop anything, and the last boss drops weapons.  In order for you to ensure you aren't going to get a repeat drop you must Bind each set item to your account as you acquire them.  To bind an item, right click the item and select Bind.  For example if you are trying to get a staff but the sword drops, you should bind the sword so you will not receive the sword again until you collect the staff.  Once you collect the staff, the sword will have the chance to drop again.  I recommend farming set pieces with a friend as it will go much faster, especially if they are stickerbooking with you.  Each dungeon has several sets which could drop.

Transmutation.  Once you have collected pieces of a set you can go to a transmutation station to reconstruct the item with transmute crystals.  Transmute crystals are acquired through various means, like daily dungeons and pledge quests.  The cost of reconstruction goes down as you acquire more of the set items.  If you only have one piece it may cost you 75 crystals to reconstruct, where as it may only cost you 25 crystals if you have all the set pieces.  Another feature of the transmute station is the ability to change the trait of an item already in your inventory.  If you do not get the trait you want on your set item and you have researched the trait on the type of armor you want to change the trait on, you may transmute the item's trait to a more desirable trait for 50 transmute crystals.

Transmutation stations are located in Clockwork City and some guild halls.
